BOOB JOB RECOVERY TIME

Hello!
Since you have found your way to this post, I am assuming you are curious to know how long and what the recovery is like after having a boob job. Well I am here to answer your questions on how a boob job recovery really is.

First thing, if you want to see my story about my boob job in South Korea, prices, where I got it done and the size and type of implant with before and after pictures. Then please head to the previous boob job blog post by clicking here.

Okay, let’s hope right into it!

Does it hurt?

No, well at least not for me it didn’t. If you read my previous blog post listed above, then you should know I had a “No pain” technique. Which to be honest, I have no idea how it is done since I am not a surgeon and I can’t speak Korean enough to know how they did it.

So let me tell you how it really felt in the span of 2 weeks during my boob job recovery.

I had no pain. Instead it felt very tight and sore. My skin was very solid and tight right after the surgery. This of course makes sense seeing as my boobs suddenly went up 2 sizes in the span of 3 hours. As such, my skin was technically being stretched making it very tight, solid and sore. The tightness was interesting but at the same time, it gave me no unusual sensation. On the other hand, I was very sore, which felt as if I did a very intensive chest workout with a hardcore personal trainer. I could move around, but I didn’t really want to since I was sore.

I felt this way for about 1 week.

Was it difficult to move?

At first, yes. It not only is a difficult thing, you technically should not be moving your upper body much at all. Meaning you should not be attempting to lift heavy things, carry heavy things, don’t workout and don’t lift your arms above your head, especially if you still feel sore. Remember, the skin is extremely tight, so moving in ways that will pull the skin can possibly hurt you and aggravate your incision location.
You do not want to pull any stitches!

For me, I was able to lift my arms fully above my head after 2 weeks post surgery. After two weeks, I was told by the hospital that I can do some stretching to help with any lingering soreness. By 2 weeks, I had almost no soreness remaining.

How long till your boobs feel normal after a boob job?

Currently I am almost 2 months post surgery and my boobs are just starting to “feel” normal.
They are finally becoming very soft like they naturally were. However some areas are still a bit firm. These areas being the side of my breasts closest to my armpits as well as the lower under portion of my breasts. I am assuming by 3 months, my breast will feel completely normal, especially since they are already almost normal feeling.

Weird feelings during boob job recovery?

Of YES of course!
My biggest weird feelings were numbness around the lower breast and nipples and then  having hypersensitivity in the nipples for about 4 days. The hypersensitivity was very temporary and occurred at the 1 week part of my recovery. On the other hand, the numbness is still lingering in small locations now even 1.5 months post surgery. The numbness was on the nipples and on the entire lower portion of the breasts. Over the course of 1.5 months, the numbness has almost faded away, however a small amount of a numb sensation still remains on my 1 breast focused around the nipple. At the rate of the fading, I will guess the numbness in my 1 breast will be gone by 2.5 months.

On that note, I will mention that my breasts did not heal at the same rate. My 1 breast was very fast to start feeling normal, while my other was and continues to be a little slower to heal.

By this I mean that the swelling took a bit longer to fade and the numbness is still taking a little time to fade. I was informed by the hospital that all these things are completely normal.

Tips for fast boob job recovery?

I am almost fully recovered, so I do indeed have some tips to help you better heal after your breast augmentation surgery.

  • Use ice packs
Every night for 1.5 weeks I would apply ice packs to the most swollen areas of my breasts. This significantly helped the swelling reduce and helped with soreness.
  • Don’t do anything!
Recovery is very important, so try your best not to do anything physically straining on your upper body. Lets be real, you don’t want to mess up your fresh new boobs.
  • Take vitamins & high protein
I live by my vitamins and after a surgery, your body is working over time to heal and needs all the extra help it can get. So take your multi vitamins. Don’t forget protein, protein helps flesh and muscle to repair faster, so eating high protein and vitamin rich foods will help your boobs heal much faster.
  • Don’t touch them
Seriously though, I know it is tempting and if you have a significant other, be very strict and clear not to play around with them. Like I said before… you don’t want to seriously mess up your lovely new boobs. Wait until they are fully recovered before “playing”.
  • Sleep on your back
The hospital will be very clear with you that you must sleep on your back for at least 3 months. There is no exception to this either. If you are a stomach and side sleeper like myself, this will be very hard for you and uncomfortable. So make a nest in your bed with blanket barriers to prevent yourself from switching to your side at night. Also invest in a neck pillow, it will make it much easier for you to sleep on your back in comfort.

I hope this could be helpful to anyone who is considering or will be having breast augmentation and is wondering what a boob job recovery is like.
