ELIZABETH ARDEN CERAMIDE CAPSULES | REVIEW

The ultimate serum for dry sensitive skin.
A must have!

I first started using Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules just over 1 year ago when I started my old job selling high end skincare products at my local beauty boutique. When starting my job, I had to attend brand courses where employees where educated on select high end brands and products. My first course, was Elizabeth Arden. In that course I learned all about their best selling Ceramide line and their Prevage line. After the course, I was so excited to test out the ceramides  for myself. So Igot a few sample packs to try.

I used the ceramide capsues for 1 month and I was addicted. After the first night my skin seemed so much better overall. Since I have a combination, sensitive and acne prone skin type, my skin seems to regularly be in a state of distress. But these ceramide capsules almost over night repair my skin so a regular state while also calming down any pimples I may have!

So I officially am a Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsule user. Even after my move to Korea, I still need to make sure my skin care routine includes my holy grail item, ceramides.

What they are for:

Ceramides are skin repairing agents. Your skin naturally produces its very own ceramides, however over time, you skin stops producing as many as it used to. Thus, you skin looses its firmness, moisture, elasticity and overall youthfulness. Ceramides are they agents that hold your skin cells together, they are the glue to your skin that protect your skin from harmful external aggressors. When you loose ceramides, you skin can become dry, sensitive, dull and start to sag. People who naturally produce less ceramides in their skin are more likely to be those with a dry and sensitive skin type.

Texture:

Ceramide capsule serum has a very interesting texture that is different from anything else I have ever tried. It has the consistency of a syrup that when applied, has an oily feel to it. However while massaging onto the skin, the oily texture fades away and the serum is thoroughly absorbed into the skin, leaving behind little to no oiliness on the skin. The skin immediately feels silky smooth and well hydrated.

Who they are for:

Ceramide capsules are my all time must have item. However just because they are amazing for me, does not mean they will be amazing for everyone.

The ceramides come in very unique packaging, in pill form where 1 pill contains enough serum for your entire face, neck and chest and even the back of your hands. This means every night when you want to apply your ceramide serum, you must open a new capsule/pill. This packaging design can have an “inconvenient” feel to it. Yet at the same time, it provides the feeling of luxury. Since this is indeed, a luxury skin care item. 🙂 Each capsule/pill is in a gel type casing that dissolves in water, so be sure to store your capsules in their jar in a dry place where water cannot get in contact with the capsules/pills. This water soluble feature is excellent since once you are done with a capsule, you can throw the casing directly into the toilet if there is not a trash bin near.

ELIZABETH ARDEN CERAMIDE CAPSULES | REVIEW

If you have dry skin:

These are a must have for you! Ceramides provide what your skin lacks, ceramides! The glue to your skin cells! It repairs damaged and dry skin and aids in rebuilding your moisture barrier. These are perfect to help anyone who has dry skin and I promise you will become addicted once you try them!

Sensitive skin:
Those with sensitive skin generally also have dry skin. If you are sensitive but not dry, then these are still amazing for you! Skin sensitivities are generally caused because the skin is not producing enough ceramides to create its protective barrier. You cells are exposed to external elements which can cause irritation and sensitivities. I too have sensitive skin but once I started using ceramides, I not longer would experience sudden hives, rashes and other sensitive skin issues.

Combination skin:
There is no issue with trying ceramides since you skin has both dry areas and oilier areas. Even though you have both skin types, you skin still needed proper moisture and hydration. If you are interested in an excellent serum to aid in anti-aging and skin repairing then ceramides are a great option. I recommend starting with a tester since ceramides can feel on the oil side upon first application. Start by using 3 nights a week and see how your skin reacts. If you break out, ceramide capsules may be too rich for you.

Oily skin:
It is a common misconception that oily skin types should avoid skincare and moisturizing products. Your skin may product more oil, but that does not mean you can skin skin care. You skin still needs hydration. If you want to start anti-aging care then try using ceramides 3 times a week at night time only. Start with a sample first and see how you skin reacts. For some people, providing their oily skin with regular moist actually helps regulate their skin, making it produce less oil! My advice, try it before you buy it.

Acne prone skin:
I have acne prone skin and ceramides make a world of a difference for me. However my acne is not cause from excessive oil and is more closely related to skin irritations. Using ceramides on my type of acne really helps to calm redness and inflammation in my acne, thus minimizing them 🙂 Since acne is damaged, irritated skin and ceramides repair and heal skin, it makes sense that ceramides can work for some people and their acne. Once again, everyones acne is different, so test is before you buy it and see how you acne reacts. When testing, only use it 3 times a week at night.

Overall:

I cannot live without Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules.
If you ever ask me about them in person, I will be excited to share with anyone how much I love and highly recommend these.
In fact! I used to get so many customers hooked on this serum because I swore by it. Even for people in their early 20’s this is great to try out!  I will forever include ceramide capsules in my night time skincare routine. I quite honestly have never felt so strongly about a product where I have consistently repurchased. This is probably something I will use at night for the rest of time.
No lies it is that good with my skin. Also, since it is an anti-aging product, I will probably look fabulous in my 40’s since I started using them in my early 20’s 😉 Highly recommended that everyone tries them.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules can be bought in any boutique selling high end skincare and cosmetics. Since this is a high end brand, your looking at prices from $50+ depending on size. If you live overseas in Asia area, you can purchase ceramides on Gmarket.com for a good price.
(I bought mine on Gmarket).
