Hi everyone!
It’s time for another product review only this time is comes with a fun video. 🙂 Today I will be sharing my Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask Review, which is a fun bubbling face mask that was very trendy not too long ago. I finally was able to get my hands on it, so I figured I’d make this video with my friends! Check out the video bellow to see our first impression on the bubble clay mask!
Why does it bubble?
The bubbling is caused by carbonation added to the mask. The purpose it to cause a deep cleansing effect, pulling excess sebum and dirt from deep within the pores to the surface. Because this is also a clay mask, the combination of clay and carbonation creates and extremely effective deep clean. Making it very ideal for those with oily skin and problems with clogged pores.

As you can see, based on the Cosdna analasys, this bubble clay mask is quite safe for those with sensitive skin to use as it has minimal ingredients that can cause irritation. Unfortunately, it does contain a couple ingredients that can trigger acne in some people. So do keep that in mind when planning on purchasing this item. I find this rather unfortunate as many acne sufferers look to clay masks to help unclog pores to resolve acne, not trigger it.
Scent & Texture
First off, I loved the fragrance in this item. It has a very refreshing scent similar to what you would consider an ocean scent in most products. However the scent is rather strong which is unfortunate and I personally would prefer if it had a very mild scent or non at all, as fragrance can be irritating to most people.
The texture and application of this product it extremely unique, which is why it became such a hit product in Korea and globally. Right out of the jar, the texture is that of a gooey gel/cream. To put into terms, it is like a sticky slime. It comes with a spatula to help with application and for hygienic use of the product. However I felt due to the gooey texture of the product, it made it hard to apply this item with the provided spatula. After multiple uses, I found just using clean fingers was easiest.
Application & Experience
The bubble clay mask begins to bubble quickly, making it important that you apply this mask quickly. It glides on fairly smooth, however as I previously mentioned, it is easiest to apply with clean fingers.
The packaging is rather cheap, as it comes in a plastic jar that easily leaks during shipment. The protective cap inside can easily harden making removal to access the product difficult *nail breakingly difficult*.
The bubble clay mask begins to bubble after 30 seconds of being on the skin *remember this mask should be applied on dry cleansed skin*. You will begin to see large bubbles forming and experience a tickling sensation around 2-3 minutes of the mask being on the skin. This sensation is the carbonation taking effect, reaching into the pores and forming bubbles.
As usual, it is best to leave this mask on the skin for around 15 minutes to experience the full effects. The mask will triple in size and become very bubbly and puffy on the skin. Not only does this make the mask fun to do with your friends, but also show how effective the carbonation is. After 15 minutes, wet your hands and massage the product into the skin to reduce the bubbles, then wash away with luke warm water.
Overall
The tickling sensation of the carbonation isn’t for everyone. Personally I was not annoyed by it, but my friend didn’t enjoy the sensation and wanted to remove the mask as soon as possible. The bubble clay mask can be a bit messy, easily getting into the hair and eyes. For me, I end up doing this mask on days I plan to shower as it without fail, bubbles into my hair line.
It does not rinse of cleanly and takes a while to wash off. However this is common with most rinse off masks. After it was washed off, my skin felt very clean and fresh and to my surprise, my skin was not extremely dry after which was nice as I personally do not do clay masks because they are too drying for me.
My skin was not irritated, however 1 week after using the mask, I did develop a break out. However it is hard to say if it was due to the mask or not.
I find this mask to be fun with friends and a bit annoying to use regularly. For now, I am strictly using it as a spot treatment after popping any pimples to help dry them out. So far, I prefer to use it this way instead of a full face treatment.
Have you tried this mask? If so, how did you like it? Let me know in the comments bellow!
