Hello Loves!
Today I have another review on one of my current favorite Korean High-end brands, HERA!
With the seasons changing to summer here in Korea, surprisingly enough, my skin has still been dry. I also have been interested in finding a nice non-cushion foundation for convenience and hygiene purposes.
Since the HERA UV Mist Cushion in Ultra Moisture has been my holy grail lately, I figured I’d give another HERA product a try, the HERA Vita Lifting Foundation.
What Is it?
The HERA Vita Lifting Foundation is designed to provide the skin with deep hydration, moisture and also provide anti-aging benefits through its serum based formula. It comes in only 3 colors, which are the same as the HERA UV Mist Cushion in Ultra Moisture. Of course, I got the same color as my cushion in #23 (In MAC I am around an NC25).
Packaging
The foundation come sin a chic pump bottle with a clear base so you can see how much product you have used. The pump bottle works so that the foundation is air pumped to the surface. which is a design I prefer as it allows you to efficiently use all the product.
The Foundation
Its formula is that of a regular liquid foundation that is designed for dry skin types. The formula floats more on the thick side. It blends easily into the skin. However as you can see bellow, the color is a bit too dark for me. But once summer comes and my skin gets a bit darker, the color will fit better.
Ingredients
Application
The HERA Vita Lifting Foundation applies best with your fingers. The heat from you hands allows the foundation to spread quicker over the skin. as with using a brush, the foundation seems to start to “self set” while still working with it. I found my beauty blender absorbed too much of the foundation to be worth while. However a damn beauty blender provides a nice light to sheer coverage.
Results
I really liked the coverage and feeling of this product on my skin. However on its own, it did not hold up throughout my day, which was very disappointing. In only 4 hours the foundation sunk into the pores and fine lines. Which was a surprising for an anti aging foundation…
Throughout the first day of use, I also notice my skin becoming itchy, which has me quite concerned. The next day I used a different moisturizer underneath, in assumption the moisturizer was the issue. However the same effects occurred. On the 3rd day of use I noticed my skin became very oily and overall looked bad throughout the day while feeling irritated. I decided I should not use this product anymore.
The next morning, my what as “flawless skin” achieved from my BHA’s and AHA’s had broken out all over my cheeks and even on my forehead (I never breakout on my forehead).
So it has been confirmed I cannot use this foundation as the ingredients of it do not work with my skin, which was hugely unfortunate since my previous experience with HERA was so amazingly good.
Overall
I found this foundation to be very disappointing especially for the $50 price range. I would not recommend it even if you don’t have sensitive skin. This foundation overall does not look good on the skin after a few hours. Even though the product is dermatologist tested, it clearly can be very irritating for some people with sensitive and acne prone skin.
I am now on a mission to recover my skin and will hopefully have no new acne scars.
