The most popular tourist destination for shopping in South Korea!
Today I am going to share a quick glimpse of what it is like on the streets of Myeongdong South Korea. Myeongdong is one of the most popular places to shop in South Korea, not only does this apply to locals, but also to Foreigners as well. The streets of Myeongdong are lines to the sky with beauty stores, restaurants, clothing stores, salons, spas, massage shops and much much more! As soon as you enter Myeongdong from the subway station you will immediately be overwhelmed with the amount of shops and people everywhere.
This was mine and Kyles 3rd time visiting Myeongdong. We haven’t gone often yet because we are still poor but this time, we had a little extra money to spend this month so we decided to head to Myeongdong to get some cheap full body massages and get some items we were in need of.

Could you see how crazy busy those streets were?! However, we did visit Myeongdong on a Saturday afternoon, so that does make it busier then normal. If you are looking to visit Myeongdong and not be too crowded, it is best to visit on a Monday during the day. Do keep in mind, Myeongdong is a very popular tourist destination, you will see a lot of forgeiners there and even on weekdays, Myeongdong is still very very very busy and crowded. Just a little less crowded then on the weekends.
Items bought in Myeongdong
I managed to get everything I was looking for in Myeongdong with ease and for really amazing prices!
I was looking for a few new summer shoes because all my other ones were falling apart. I also was in the market for a small simple back pack to carry my laptop in and other things.
The most amazing thing is that everything I bought that day was $10.00! So cheap! I got 2 pairs of shoes for $20.00 and they surprisingly are fairly good quality! Of course I don’t expect them to last 2 years but for $10.00 how could I say no to such pretty shoes! They surprisingly are also very comfortable with cushioned pads!
I also got very cute small back pack for $10.00! It was the last one in this turquoise color and I was so happy to get it since it basically was exactly what I was looking for. Of course once again I don’t expect this back pack to be able to hold too much stuff or anything intensive. But when you go for a back pack that is cute and pretty, you shouldn’t be carrying around intense stuff in it anyways. Ex, hiking gear, camping gear, etc.
Overall the quality of both the back pack and the shoes are surprisingly really good for the price I paid. For the price the quality is that of items you would buy at Ardene, Stitches, Walmart, etc. So not bad for a total of $30.00.
Overall, I am very happy with all 3 purchases from Myeongdong! I can’t wait to go shopping there again and actually buy new cloths! (which I also am in great need of).
