Plastic Surgery Korea

Korea currently is the leading country for plastic surgery with the nickname “Most Plastic Country”. It’s biggest tourism being for cosmetic surgery korea. Many foreigners are now travelling into south Korea just for cosmetic surgery treatments. You can find travel agencies in Korea dedicated just for the cosmetic surgery korea tourism. Helping  foreigners have a comfortable stay before and during their post-op periods.

The most popular “look” many strive for in Korea is the “Ulzzang” look feature large almond double lid eyes, a high nose bridge in between the eyes, thick soft eyebrows, a small mouth with plump lips, small forehead with a small “V” shaped jaw line.

I have to admit, I find this look very pretty and appealing to the eye. However when it becomes a popular surgery korea trend, on some people it can look very unnatural or “fake”.There was a popular image going around a while back for one of the beauty competitions for Korea where all the pictures looked the same because of cosmetic enhancements.

There recently was a cosmetic surgery office in Gangnam that recently had to remove a display case in their front office that was filled with shaved jaw bones from all the surgery they have done. The case was ordered to be removed for health concerns.

*I came across the images a few months back when I was looking for a foreigner friendly dermatologist in Gangnam*

To be honest. I personally do not see a huge issue with plastic surgery. If it enhances your natural features to be more flattering then that is ok. If it makes you happy and more confident in who you are, then there is not problem. Everyone should live their life happy with how they look and feel confident in themselves. However if the surgery makes you unrecognizable, then that in my opinion, is taking it a little too far. But if they are happy maybe it’s okay?

What is you opinion on the Korean surgery trends? Would you ever do surgery in South Korea? If so, which procedures would you have done?
