Gua sha on face techniques are nothing new to the skincare realm. However, gua sha for face has recently become a somewhat viral trend on social media with influencers around the world. It has been adopted not only by influencers but also by many skincare brands, selling gua sha tools to a global market.
But there is one problem
not many know how to properly use gua sha on the face at home. How to use gua sha is rather simple, but not many show the proper prep, pressure application, and massage directions to partake in effect and non-damaging gua sha.
how you should use gua sha at home
- apply a generous amount of facial oil on the face and neck, avoiding the eyes
- press firming on the area you want to massage first and pull the gua sha in away from the center of the face
- when you feel tension, stop and apply pressure to the area to relieve tense facial muscles
- the skin should never be tugged at or have resistance when doing gua sha, if your skin starts to resist, apply more oil!
