HOW TO COVER ACNE SCARS

Hello loves!

I am assuming you have arrived on my blog here today because you are suffering from acne and/or post acne scars and are curious to know how to cover acne scars. Well I too have also experienced my fair share of acne, breakouts, acne rashes, hives and other skin conditions on my face that have lead me to have some pretty bad acne scars over the years. With all those skin troubling experiences, I am now pretty confident in my abilities on how to cover acne scars without looking cakey.

So let me introduce to you my easy steps on how to cover acne scars using only 3 key products! Yes that is right, only 3 products will be used to cover post acne scars! Watch the video guide bellow to see how I cover my scars or continue reading for a step by step routine guide.

You will need the following products or ones with similar high coverage:

Step By Step

First, make sure your skin is clean and primed with your skincare routine. View my Korean skincare routine post to see what skincare I use for my acne prone sensitive skin. After prepping and priming the skin, wait a few minutes for the skincare to absorb fully. This will prevent caking and will allow the makeup to sit better on the skin.

Second, with a small synthetic concealer brush of your choice, apply a high coverage cream concealer or the Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Pot Concealer in Lingerie to each individual acne scar. This may seem tedious, however it is the most effect high coverage routine.

Thirdly, once each scar has been covered, take a high coverage foundation or the Innisfree Longwear Cover Cushion N21 that I used, and pat it onto the skin lightly. Continue blending into the skin with a patting motion. Do not pull or spread the foundation. Patting achieves the highest possible coverage.

Fourth, take a high coverage liquid concealer to any scars that are still somewhat visible. Gentle apply to the acne scars and let sit for a minute or two. Doing so allows time for the concealer to set. You can also use a cream concealer once again for even higher coverage, however doing so runs the chances of the skin looking cakey, so I prefer liquid at this point.

After waiting, blend out with the same puff used with the foundation. I use the cushion puff provided in my foundation, however a beauty blender also works well.

After blending, set the skin with any loose powder of your choice. Use a small amount of setting powder and do not use powder foundation as this can make the skin look cakey.

And your done! That is how to cover acne scars without looking cakey! I hope this short tutorial could be helpful to anyone suffering from acne or post acne scars!
